Colorful lines and long lines of text: These are just a few of the subjects that populate Natalia Rose's canvases, which examine identity and the exoticization of the other. The Russian-born artist, who is living and working in Denmark, draws from historical and cultural imagery to create a visual map of her identity—one that mingles Eastern and Western beauty ideals and mythologies.
