Natalia Malicka – Art as the Language of the Soul
Polish artist Natalia Malicka, known by her creative pseudonym ArtPositive (ArtPozytyw), is a true testament to the idea that dreams have no age. Originally from Kazakhstan, she returned to her ancestral homeland, Poland, at the age of 50, bringing with her a world of artistic passions.
Since childhood, she had been drawn to art, expressing herself through leather paintings, floristry, and sewing toys. Yet, her greatest dream—to become a painter—remained just beyond reach. It was only after moving to Poland that she finally discovered painting, immersing herself in the magic of color, form, and light.
Her works are not merely images but entire narratives where emotions, memories, and nature intertwine. She has a profound ability to capture the harmony of the world around her, translating it onto canvas through paintings filled with energy, light, and movement.
Light in her paintings symbolizes a spiritual journey, while color embodies emotion. Through layered painting techniques, her works shift and transform under different lighting, breathing with depth and life. Intuitive brushstrokes create dynamism, while unexpected color combinations evoke warmth, joy, and serenity.
She believes that her paintings carry light, inspiration, and a love for life, turning every home they grace into a sanctuary of comfort and heartfelt warmth. She has held seven solo exhibitions. Her paintings are part of private collections in Poland, America, the Netherlands, Kazakhstan, Russia. Germany.
Today, her artistic journey extends beyond painting—she passionately explores ceramics and sculpture, continually seeking new ways to express herself. Each of her creations tells a story of a deep love for art, the courage to embrace change, and the unwavering belief that it is never too late to create.
