Born in 1971 in Armenia, Narine Grigoryan is a painter and designer who currently lives and works in Germany. Her artistic career is marked by a rich academic education, which began at the Yerevan State Academy of Fine Arts in Armenia, where she studied from 2001 to 2007, after completing a course at the Yerevan State College of Arts named after P. Terlemezyan from 1996 to 2001. In search of new artistic perspectives, she continued her education in Switzerland, obtaining a Master of Arts in Design at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Northwestern Switzerland in Basel between 2015 and 2017.
Her work is characterized by an eclectic approach, mixing different techniques such as ink, gouache, ballpoint pen, oil, acrylic, and pigments on paper or canvas. Narine Grigoryan draws inspiration from a variety of artistic influences, ranging from Old Masters such as Hans Holbein, Pieter Bruegel, and Albrecht Dürer, to more modern figures such as Edvard Munch, Bernard Buffet, Anselm Kiefer, Amedeo Modigliani, and Odilon Redon. Her creations oscillate between Fauvism, Figurative, and Impressionism, exploring themes that are both personal and universal. Narine Grigoryan's art is a constant quest to understand and represent human emotions, enriched by her deep respect for European artistic traditions.
Throughout her career, she has participated in various artistic residencies, including that of the Cité des Arts in Paris in 2007. Since 2008, she has been a member of the Association of Painters of Armenia, and since 2018, she has been part of the Bundesverband Bildender Künstler (BBK) in Germany. Her career demonstrates an unwavering commitment to art, nourished by diverse influences and rigorous training, which make her work a bridge between different cultures and eras.
