Photographer Francesco Mursia was born in Vicenza, Italy into a family of sculptors for three generations. As a teenager, he attended a painter's studio to learn portraiture, and it was then that he discovered photography thanks to a camera offered by his parents. However, he quickly abandoned his artistic studies following personal events.

In 2010, Mursia moved to North America and brought with him an SLR camera with which he made his first two series, "LandEscapes" and "DTLS" (2011). His first group exhibition took place in 2012 at the Collector Gallery in Berkeley. After this experience, Mursia practiced photography sporadically.

It was not until 2020, after moving to France, that he fully immersed himself in photography again, exploring a new artistic style focused on landscape photography. His first new series, "Impossible Postcards" (2021-ongoing), composed of conceptual landscapes, allowed him to conquer an international audience.

During the winter of 2021, he began to integrate his own artistic style into the field of portraiture, which led him to create "The Surfers" (2022-ongoing), a series of portraits of everyday surfers before and after their session. surfing on the Cote des Basques in Biarritz, France. For this series, Mursia used models that do not fit the typical image one associates with surfers, including women, people of color, older people, and diverse couples.

Finally, with "Playa Life" (2022), Mursia photographed the Burning Man participants each day as they paused in their wanderings to gaze at the camera from the scenic setting of the Black Rock Desert in Nevada.

Francesco Mursia, through his varied photographic series, captivates the attention of the public and offers a unique artistic perspective, exploring the landscapes, portraits and moments of life that surround him.
