Muayad Muhsin, born on April 19, 1964, in Babylon, Iraq, is a contemporary Iraqi artist known for his symbol-rich works that draw deeply from the cultural heritage of Mesopotamia. His art often reflects theatrical and cinematic elements, creating vivid narratives through his use of symbolism. Muhsin received his formal art education at the Art Institute of Baghdad, where he studied from 1979 to 1984, and later earned a Master's degree in painting from the University of Baghdad in 1999. He is an active member of both the Syndicate of Iraqi Artists and the Society of Fine Iraqis.

Muhsin’s work has been featured in numerous national and international exhibitions. His early participation in global art events included the World Youth Festival Exhibitions in Leipzig (1978) and Havana (1979), as well as several Arab Youth Festival Exhibitions in Kuwait, Abu Dhabi, and Saudi Arabia. His solo exhibitions span decades, starting in Baghdad in 1983 and continuing through multiple venues in Iraq and abroad, including the U.S., Lebanon, and Europe.

Notable exhibitions include his participation in the Annual Art Festival in Dallas, Texas (2001), and the Gallery Artists Hazardous Areas Exhibition in Ithaca, New York (2004). His work has also been showcased in Geneva and Paris, among other international locations. Throughout his career, Muhsin has remained a vital figure in the Iraqi art scene, continuously exploring the rich history and symbolism of his homeland through his dynamic and evocative works.
