Adele Mosonyi is a contemporary French artist, known for her captivating and imaginative artworks. Born in England in 1955, Mosonyi spent her formative years in New York, where she discovered her passion for painting at an early age. For over four decades, she has called the Paris area her home, with her painting studio situated near the Flea Market in Saint Ouen.
Mosonyi's artistic journey began with training in drawing and painting at the Paris Beaux Arts Academy, alongside her university studies in Philosophy and History of Art. This dual education provided her with a rich foundation upon which to build her artistic practice.
Throughout her career, Mosonyi has actively participated in numerous international and local group exhibitions, as well as solo shows, showcasing her diverse range of artistic talents to audiences worldwide. Her work is characterized by a focus on fabulous female icons from ancient mythologies, as well as the creation of hybrid characters such as Caliban from Shakespeare's Tempest.
In her most recent works, Mosonyi continues to explore themes of mythology and hybridity, blending elements of fantasy and reality to create visually stunning and thought-provoking pieces. Through her art, she invites viewers to delve into the realms of imagination and symbolism, where ancient narratives intertwine with contemporary perspectives, offering glimpses into the complexities of human existence and the power of storytelling.
