*"In a world where safety and surveillance blur into wearable paranoia, ‘The Pedestrian and War-Saving Mask’ confronts the absurdity of self-preservation in the 21st century. This hybrid art-object—part dystopian fashion, part emergency apparatus—mocks the commodification of fear. Its titanium-reinforced ‘hairstyle,’ CO2 sensors, and 96-hour oxygen supply parody the escalating arms race of personal security. But beneath the satire lies a grim question: When survival gear becomes a status symbol, who’s really profiting?
The mask’s design borrows equally from South Korean tech-aesthetics and Cold War gas masks, rendering it uncannily plausible. Its zippered ‘lens’ (doubling as a camera/ADAS system) winks at our obsession with documenting threats—real or imagined. This piece is for collectors who crave art that bites back: a conversation starter about ethics, preparedness, and the theater of safety."*
