Each print is unique. Using this method I interpret and transform my own photo series.
A few notes: The plaster-coated picture sheet is relatively thick like a cardboard and not continuously flat. So it can hang on a clip as shown, of course it can hang framed (here in 30x40cm black frame). The plaster surface is not very sensitive to light.

RO is a contemporary artist and preservation-architect, who in his artistic work uses a form of experimental monument preservation as an independent art form.

Through his critical architecturally look, he tries to question conventional ideas about our cultural heritage and shows objects or conditions that are also considered ugly or void which are usually excluded from the preservation of monuments.

The transformation of places, of spaces and objects, increasing decay to gradual disappearance are processes that he documents and at the same time offer him inspiration for his artistic work. In his     works he mixes the boundaries between photography and painting, between reality and abstraction.

The tecnique: Using and experimenting a special printing technique according to the principles of photo-transfer and fresco-technology. Digital printouts of photos are manually pressed into still moist plaster coating. The printbase is a 440gr thick handmade paper/carton, coated with several plaster layers, based in gesso. Each picture/printmake is unique.

RO has participated in solo and group exhibitions and art festivals in Germany, the UK and Italy. Most recently, in May 2025, at the ARTMUC in Munich. His works are held in private collections in Germany, Italy, Belgium, GB, USA, Canada, Bangkok, Tunisia, Switzerland.
