Nato a Taranto nel 1922, vive a Torino dal 1936. Pittore autodidatta, sin da ragazzo si è dedicato al disegno. Uomo alieno da esibizionismo ha sempre lavorato in silenzio, appartandosi per soddisfare una interna esigenza, un grande desiderio di comunicare attraverso la pittura il proprio pensiero e le intime emozioni. E' passato, negli anni, tra diverse esperienze dall'impostazione romantica di prima maniera, alle immagini espressionistiche.
La sua continua evoluzione nella metodica, nella tecnica e nei soggetti che propone nelle sue tele, è di conseguenza strettamente collegata sia al procedere della sua maturità artistica sia ad un mondo in veloce cambiamento.
La rappresentazione di figure e paesaggi con l'uso di forme spigolose con schemi geometrici e forti chiaroscuri, scelta negli ultimi anni, non muta la sua poetica ed il suo raccontare: queste figure geometriche, si accostano l'un l'altro sino a comporre l'immagine, il racconto.
Le opere di Lo savio ad un certo punto sembrano completamente modificarsi sino ad assumere aspetti tipici dell'astrattismo dove le forme ed i colori si intrecciano in modo da esaltare i propri sentimenti. Attraverso questa elaborazione ed un sapiente utilizzo del linguaggio visivo, l'artista vuole giungere al vero significato ed essenza delle cose: e ci riesce con una disinvoltura inaspettata e con grande maturità artistica.
Alterna la sua attività tra Torino, Carrara ( MS) e Taranto.

Biography and artistic figure

Born in Taranto (Italy) in 1922, living in Turin since 1936. Self-taught painter, as a boy was dedicated to the design. Men from alien exhibitionism has always worked in silence, to satisfy the interior need, the great desire to communicate through painting his intimate thoughts and emotions, through several experiences from the first of as romantic until expressionistic images and modern language.
Its continuous evolution in the methodology and in the subjects of his paintings, is therefore closely linked both to his artistic maturity and a fast changing world.
The representation of figures and landscapes with the use of angular shapes with geometric patterns and strong ‘chiaroscuro’, choice in recent years, does not change his poetry and his telling: these shapes, they approach each other to compose the image, the story.
His art, at some point seem to completely change up to take on aspects of abstract art where the shapes and colours are interwoven in order to enhance their feelings. Through this development and a judicious use of visual language, the artist wants to reach the true meaning and essence of things and succeeds with a surprising ease and with great artistic maturity.
