Glossy finish

This is one of my impasto pieces, created entirely with a palette knife to capture the lush beauty and texture of blooming peonies. I wanted to convey the vibrancy and richness of these flowers through bold, expressive strokes, layering thick oil paints to build dimension and depth. Each petal is sculpted with deliberate movements, using a mix of pinks, purples, and whites to give the peonies a sense of life and delicacy.
The background is a blend of cool blues and greens, applied with sweeping gestures to create contrast and make the flowers stand out. The darker lower section suggests the weight of dense foliage, while the lighter upper part opens up to a more airy, dreamy atmosphere.
My goal was to evoke the feeling of stepping into a sunlit garden, where the peonies seem almost tangible, their layers textured and vibrant, inviting you to reach out and touch them.
