Mijal Zachs is a contemporary Mexican artist. Her work has evolved into a dialogue between painting and textiles after 20 years of exploration. She explores the boundaries of the pictorial to then cross over into the realms of installation, nature, and textile art.
Painting is mimesis and, at the same time, a simulation of an exposed alterity, of the "self" being "other" for her; it's a language that leaves its mark and reverberates as an echo of multiple pictorial identities.
Mijal Zachs was born in 1975, in Mexico City.
