Karl Otto Lagerfeld, né le 10 septembre 1933 à Hambourg et mort le 19 février 2019 à Neuilly-sur-Seine, est un grand couturier et styliste allemand, également photographe, dessinateur, designer, réalisateur et éditeur.
Très jeune, il révèle une affinité avec la mode. En 1954, il remporte le prix du Secrétariat international de la laine ex æquo avec Yves Saint Laurent. Il fait ses classes chez Balmain et Patou puis comme indépendant. Il devient directeur artistique de la maison italienne Fendi à Rome en 1965, de la maison de haute couture Chanel en 1983, et de sa propre ligne peu après. En parallèle, dans les années 1970, il travaille ainsi pour Chloé.
Prolifique créateur, il supervise, durant ses dernières années d'activité, une vingtaine de collections par an, toutes marques confondues. Postmoderniste, il mélange les éléments du passé et de l'histoire des maisons qu'il dirige avec des références modernes.
L'artiste va faire imprimer son travail sur du plexiglas de 5 m/m d'épaisseur contre-collé d'une feuille d'aluminium de 2 m/m d'épaisseur puis on colle un encadrement profilé au verso pour l'accrochage.
L'artiste appelle ce procédé PopDigitalArt.
Cette œuvre est inaltérable dans le temps.
