Michael Rehr-Hoffmann, born in 1957, is a German artist who studied illustration and communication design at the University of Applied Sciences in Hamburg. For over 30 years he worked as a graphic designer in various areas of advertising and public relations in Lüneburg. After his professional life, he retired and began painting again in 2016, initially creating drawings and color sketches. That was the starting signal. His works, which include countless drawings and paintings, have already been shown in regional exhibitions in and around Lüneburg.

A main theme in his works is the still life, in which every object has a meaning and wants to tell the viewer something . Furthermore, humans appear as social creatures, both alone and in groups, in many of his drawings and paintings. His works are often unintentionally funny, but never didactic. Instead, he wants the audience to do the interpretive work and interpret his works in their own way.
