"Fine-Arts" prints on paper
It is a process of printing on art paper using very high-quality pigment inks and printed in very high definition. Its level of conservation is exceptional (more than 100 years), its quality, depth, and richness of nuances exceeds the classic photo print on Argentic paper.

Glossy finish
Apart from its exceptional thickness, the fiber paper is composed of an alpha-cellulose base without acid and it is covered with barium sulphate, and a microporous layer absorption enhancing pigments during printing. A pure white color, non-yellowing to light, this paper is especially designed for resistance and aging. It is used by major museums worldwide as it offers excellent resolution, rendering deep and dense colors.

Inspiration: The inspiration came from the deep connection between man and the sea. The shell, as a symbol of the ocean, represents not only natural beauty but also the silent dialogue between man and nature. Zanzibar, with its endless beaches and vibrant culture, provided the perfect context to reflect that relationship.
Anecdote: The idea for the shell came to me while looking at a series of seashells at a local market. I was struck by a man holding a shell as if he were listening to the sea inside, which sparked in me the idea of creating a work in which the shell would be a symbol of connection and belonging.
Conveying to others: The work seeks to convey a feeling of peace, joy and respect for nature. It reflects the celebration of simple life and the richness of everyday life. It is an invitation to value the small natural treasures, as well as to appreciate our relationship with the environment.
Because these materials: The soft pastel allowed us to capture the delicate details of the shell and the vibrant hues of the man's traditional clothing. Vivid colors and subtle transitions were key to bringing the work to life and conveying the positive energy of the moment.

Mela Luque - Córdoba, Argentina (1962)
As a child, I was very curious and creative, attentive to every detail of nature and everyday life around me. These early experiences awakened my love for art and my need to express myself through it.
I started very young as a self-taught painter. My first works were in naïve style, inspired by landscapes and rural traditions.
I studied graphic and advertising design in Buenos Aires, Argentina. In 1985, I attended several workshops in Buenos Aires, where I perfected my painting technique with acrylic and oil. During this period, my works focused on realistic landscapes.
In Spain, where I lived for more than four years, I continued to work and explore different techniques.
Once I settled in Italy, where I currently live, I started working on portraits, nudes and animal studies. Since 2006, I have broadened my knowledge and incorporated new techniques such as sanguine, charcoal, spatula, pastel and watercolour, perfecting myself in oil painting with pure pigments.
Since 2013, I concentrate my production on portraits made with soft pastels, using pure pigments that highlight the lights and shadows to the maximum, a classic technique that has been revalued in recent times.
