La vocation de Max s’est construite au fil des rencontres avec de nombreux peintres. Sa mère tenant un magasin de beaux arts, Max a été, dés l’age de dix ans, en contact avec le milieu des arts plastiques de la région Poitou-Charentes. Restant des heures dans le magasin, aidant sa mère pour le rangement, la rencontre s’est d’abord faite avec la peinture … en tube !  L’odeur de l’essence d’aspic, de l’huile de lin, la texture des toiles, la multitude des pinceaux… tout cela fascinait Max.
Vers quinze ans il commence à peindre. Il suit les cours de Jean François Favre créateur, entre autre, des tapisseries de l’Abbaye aux Dames de la ville de Saintes. En parallèle de ces études, il va dans les ateliers de Logan (hyperréalisme) de Dominique Brochard (aquarelle) et de Jean-louis Gatineau.

Plus tard, après des études d’anthropologie à Bordeaux, Max retrouve l’art en tenant lui aussi un magasin de fournitures pour peintres à La Rochelle. Les rencontres avec les peintres sont nombreuses : Desfontaines, Gaury, Christophe Vergé, Thierry Varennes, Magis, Moga, Bergagna, Triolet, Jean Pierre Nesler, Jean Avy, Chollet et bien d’autres…..L’orientation définitive vers la peinture s’est faite en 2000 quand le peintre Logan ayant ses ateliers surchargés invite Max à venir l’aider. Dés lors, MAX donne des cours de peinture et participe à des expositions. Depuis 25 ans il anime des ateliers à Bordeaux. Les cours de peinture, par la pratique intensive qu’ils impliquent, ont permis à Max d’être libéré des contraintes de la technique et de pratiquer ainsi une expression plus audacieuse.

Max mêle de multiples techniques avec énergie : l’acrylique est épaissie avec du sable, contournée avec du fusain, travaillée avec du papier de soie avant d’être enrichie de glacis à l’huile.Max est peintre professionnel. Il vit et travaille à Bordeaux.
