ILLUMINATION
One evening, after dinner in Reggello, we decided to take a stroll towards Cascia, home to one of Italy's most beautiful and ancient parish churches. Outside the church, the priest and a group of villagers escaped the heat, sitting on chairs brought from home, chatting amiably in the square. Thanks to a friend who was with us, the priest opened Masaccio's museum for us to visit. It was a spectacular experience, and as we exited, we were greeted by a magnificent red moon. That evening remained etched in my mind for a long time, until one day it transformed into the painting you see today.

Maurizio Vinanti was born in Florence in 1960 to a family of artisans and artists and from a very young age he showed a natural inclination for art, starting his artistic journey in the tradition of nineteenth-century painting. He would later distance himself from this to create his own personal world made of landscapes and fantastic characters that would identify him as a surrealist painter.

The painting of the Florentine artist Maurizio Vinanti is characterized by bright and contrasting colors, in which memories of surreal landscapes and remote fantasies are released. His dreamlike representation of reality and the continuous figurative research that starts from real landscapes and enters fantastic atmospheres, make him a worthy exponent of the surrealist movement.

His career, studded with countless successful events, had a turning point in 2001 when he began his partnership with the Koine Gallery in Naples of Dr. Ciro Vecchiarini. In the last 19 years of work with Koine, Maurizio Vinanti's art has landed in prestigious exhibitions around Italy and the world, from our Capri to Montreal, from Toulouse to Saarbrucken, Barcelona, Pompeii, Athens, Livorno and Florence. His paintings on polymaterial panels appear in numerous art collections, both public and private, and he has exhibited in solo and group shows, receiving well-deserved acclaim from critics and the public. He is cited by the specialized press and is present in qualified catalogs and yearbooks of modern and contemporary art.
