How I work on the web

i  start by drawing with a brush using a mixture of cobalt blue and burnt sienna diluted with turpentine or petroleum spirit. Then for my 1st layer, I put 10% sennelier medium 90% petrol. For my 2nd coat, 20% medium and 80% petrol. For my 3rd coat, 30% medium and 70% petrol. The complexion obtained is satiny. If I dilute it too much it's matte, if I dilute it too much it's too shiny. Satin is beautiful and pleasant to look at. When you look at my canvas the colors change depending on the light. But even when it's dark, the light emanating from the canvas is clear, neither too much nor too little. For 10 years, I haven't had any canvas that has cracked because I respect drying times and fat over lean. Oil is a superior medium, it allows an unequaled longevity of the painting. But for the artist, it is quite inconvenient due to the smells and the harmfulness of solvents and mediums. I do this to make the customer as happy as possible.
