Matthias Kreher is a contemporary German painter. He committed himself to a variety of subjects and motifs while staying true to the realistic style of painting. His realism is frequently interpreted metaphorically. Kreher’s landscapes frequently represent emotional states, while his visual figures frequently include very deliberate symbolic information that goes beyond a physical level of activity. The artist may be inspired to take a picture by the simple beauty of a motif, the play of light and shadow, or the sheer joy of the scene.
