ITALIAN

Massimo Morlando was born in Rome in 1976. Already in his early years he showed a strong interest in art, following in his father's footsteps. After graduating from high school he studied literature at "La Sapeinza". In 1999 he began to paint female figures in tempera on paper (see the gallery "TRADITIONAL FIGURATIVE" ). In 2001 he began to develop a more recognizable and personal style. His stays in Spain were decisive and pushed him to simplify the palette and the main lines, in search of a synthesis and immediacy that, starting from Picasso and arriving at the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, marries the point of the extraordinary and the playfulness of children. The figures increasingly detach themselves from the proportions and colors of reality, the world becomes a spectacle, and the bodies in space, even if static (Bus stop in Bilbao), want to be bearers of music, like the notes of a pentagram. Alongside painting, Morlando began to work in the world of entertainment, and in 2002 he graduated with honors with a thesis on American cinema. In 2003, on the occasion of a collective exhibition, he received a special award from the president of the national Assoartisti, the sculptor Altobelli. Since 2004 he has been a member of the Art Studio Tre association, with which he participates in some initiatives aimed at bringing art to some of the most beautiful squares of the capital. In addition to Italy, Morlando's works are in Germany, Spain and the United States of America.

ENGLISH

Morlando Massimo was born in Rome, in 1976. In the first years he already demonstrates one detached interest for the art, following in this the paternal tracks. Adolescent, he studies near scientific grammars school of Rome, where he spends drawing the hours of lessons. In 1993 he earned the first prize for the technical design at the Righi grammar school. After the secondary schools Morlando studies letters near "the Sapeinza". In 1999 he began to paint women figures using gouache on paper (see the gallery "TRADITIONAL FIGURATIVE"). In 2001 he began to mature a more recognizable style. A very important element were the periods he spent in Spain that will push it to simplify colors and the main lines, to the search for one synthesis and immediacy that leaving from Picasso and arriving at the Bilbao's Guggenheim Museum blend children's extraordinary joyfulness and point of view. The figures wander more and more from the proportions and the colors of the truth, the world becomes show, and the bodies in the space, even if static (Bus stop to Bilbao), wants to be music bearers, like notes of a five-line stave. In parallel with the Morlando painting, he begins to work in some cinema and television shows, and in 2002 he became Bachelor of Arts with full marks, writing a thesis about the American cinema. In 2003, on the occasion of a collective exhibition, he receives a special prize from the president of the national Assoartisti, the sculptor Alto...
