It is never easy to define one’s artistic approach, especially since my most natural modes of expression for me are not words, but painting and drawing.
My paintings represent characters, often female, who embody situations and emotions from my experiences and the illness that affects me: epilepsy.
Many photographers and painters that I admire have given rise to an introspection in me that I have been revealing little by little over the past few years.
I am self-taught. My work evolves empirically. I like to use several techniques, on various supports. An area in watercolor and charcoal, then a few touches of walnut husk or graphite pencil, with colored chalks. On canvas, I mainly use oil, from the finest to the fattest, with which I like to experiment. Everything is possible. This probably comes from my first job, a makeup artist.
Painting helps me evolve, to value myself, to move forward in life despite this handicap with more ease and strength. Artistic creation is a catharsis, a way to channel my most exacerbated feelings and to sensitively transcribe my pains and my doubts to find answers and make choices. Sometimes even to express joy and love, or simply my truth.
Art is my therapy and my passion. A way to reconcile with myself. An endless quest that makes me and will make me tackle an infinite number of themes.
