Maryam Moshiry was born in Iran and now resides and works in San Francisco. Her early years were shaped by the revolution and war, and the impact of living in such an environment has left an indelible mark on her. The chaos, fear, and unstable everyday life that characterized those times still resonate within her to this day.

As an artist, Maryam's journey has been deeply influenced by her upbringing and the environment in which she grew up. It is a continuous exploration of the human condition, seeking to make sense of the chaos, find beauty amidst the turmoil, and ultimately offer a glimpse of hope and resilience.

Although she studied art and design, Maryam considers herself self-taught. For her, painting is a profound journey, a parallel progression with life experiences and character development. It's a process of continual self-discovery, a realization that creating something truly unique requires finding oneself. This journey, she believes, is ongoing, demanding practice, patience, and above all, a commitment to truth and honesty.
