My new work "The many faces of Derbent"
On the coast of the Caspian Sea, ancient people founded such a beautiful, such a colorful and diverse city.
Since the end of the 4th millennium BC, people have been living here. Can you imagine?!This time period does not even fit into my head. The port city on the Silk Road has always been prosperous. After all, that's why he gathered the best carpet makers, gunsmiths, jewelers, masters of various crafts on his hilly streets. And I saw the current Derbent like this. High-rise buildings and model houses are side by side with old stone houses left just from these masters of their craft who have gone down in history. In each of these houses lives the history of families, their way of life, their morals and occupation. The spacious old house was probably owned by a jewelry dealer or the owner of a successful carpet manufactory. And a small crooked one, probably a tinker of dishes or a shoemaker. Colorful houses with their own patterns inherent only to them, they all together wrote the pattern of Derbent on the pages of world history. I wonder how long my house will last, and will it say anything about its owners after 200 years?

ARTIST STATEMENT
I was born in a place and time that had strong racist and nationalist sentiments.
All my childhood I tried to hide my origin, fearing aggression from children.
Under the influence of society, I left my work, which always dealt with ethical topics.

After many years, I returned to creativity, already in adulthood. Now I am protesting to a society that has prejudices and judgments that violate the rights of national minorities.
My credo in life is not to deceive yourself, not to forget who he was born and to carry his cultural code.

I love history and material heritage. very often I compare my childhood
memories with emotions, thus the plot of my works arises. From time to time I
immerse myself in my childhood memories and feel the emotions that I experienced as a
child. But now my life experience is already superimposed on it, and these memories
take on new outlines, which form the basis of the plot of my works.
Carpet weaving inspires me especially.

carpet weaving. I feel the feminine essence of my
grandmothers and great-grandmothers reviving in me. After all, just like my mother, they were all engaged in this craft.
The carpet-weaving ritual always sends my thoughts back to my distant childhood and transports me to the land of my ancestors,
like an instant wind. Unlike my ancestors, I "weave" carpets using canvas and a brush.
In my "carpets", which will bring an
authentic twist to any modern interior, I combine traditional
artistic materials with new ones. A peculiar connection of generations on canvas, in which both classical oil and practical acrylic are found.

In my works, you can see a collective image of a Caucasian girl of the past years, which reflects the traditions, character and mentality of that time to the viewer. Through the prism of modernity, where the boundaries of what is permissible and forbidden are erased, in
a world where there are no duties, but only rights, this girl, like a fragile delicate flower
, makes her way to life, through the cold stone jungle of technological cities.

Popularizing the art of the ancient people of the Caucasus, I want to remind people of their roots, not
only those from the Caucasus, but everyone. In the modern progressive world, where the boundaries of
cultures and religions are being erased, it is necessary to preserve its authenticity. Your nationality is yours
uniqueness, not a disadvantage!
