This artwork is hand-embroidered on a gold fabric with DMC threads which are colorfast and fade resistant. My choice was to work on a gold metallic fabric to add a touch of sparkle to the project. I used different embroidery techniques - cross stitch, back stitch. My first idea was to cross stitch the tassels, but then I decided to make them real,[...]
This artwork is hand-embroidered on a gold fabric with DMC threads which are colorfast and fade resistant. My choice was to work on a gold metallic fabric to add a touch of sparkle to the project. I used different embroidery techniques - cross stitch, back stitch. My first idea was to cross stitch the tassels, but then I decided to make them real, which is close to the feeling of being part of this magic. I chose the orange color to bring more brightness because even in the darkness we can find the light, the hope, and the faith. The embroidery is fixed on the canvas by stem stitch. It is intended to be shown as it is and hung directly on the wall. Signed on the back.
The artwork will be shipped in a box.

Mariana Ivanova is an artist recognized for her embroidered pictures. An important feature of her works is that they are created with a needle and a thread instead of a brush. Her art presents pictures translated into cross stitching. 

Walking the streets of cities around the world she gets inspired by street lamps and lanterns with their lights, beauty, elegance, and a little bit of mystery. Light and darkness are always presented in her art. Her works combine her interest in digital art, cross stitching, and street culture. They are influenced by the different places she has lived and visited and they are a visual part of her memories. For her, art and cross stitching work closely.

Mariana’s works were exhibited in numerous exhibitions throughout the USA, Brazil, France, Belgium, Netherlands and, as well online and were featured in art magazines. 

Mariana was born in Bulgaria. Currently she resides in Orange County, California with her family and stubborn Cairn Terrier dog.
