Oriente (2009) Pintura por Angelica Davila

The proposal consists of 7 large-format works. The materials used were raw cloth or raw canvas next to the wooden frames that support the work, acrylic paint and mixtures of ground marble, oxides and linseed oil to create different thick fillings and generate textures of irregular relief in the cloth surface. The work in general presents a hybridization between Christian and Masonic symbols, based on the palimpsest for the creation of a form of communication, expansion and interrelation through the foundation of icons and images where the various elements intermingle through appropriation, and thus achieve the figurative and the abstract through frontality, color and texture, achieving spaces that go from two-dimensional to three-dimensional.
