-Solitamente, amo dipingere Napoli, la città in cui vivo e alla quale sento di appartenere profondamente. Questa città, con il suo fascino unico, mi offre infinite suggestioni, ma è soprattutto il Vesuvio a catturare il mio immaginario: il vulcano, simbolo potente e inconfondibile, che domina il paesaggio e che incarna l'anima stessa del territorio. Nonostante il Vesuvio sia un tema ricorrente nelle mie opere, non smetto mai di cercare nuovi modi per rappresentarlo. È straordinario come, proprio quando penso di aver esplorato ogni sfaccettatura, emergano nuove ispirazioni: a volte legate alla realtà, altre completamente frutto della mia immaginazione. Queste visioni mi regalano prospettive inedite sulla forza del vulcano, sottolineandone il legame profondo con la vita quotidiana di chi vive sotto la sua ombra.
La mia formazione da architetto influisce spesso sulle mie creazioni, portandomi a geometrizzare le forme nei miei quadri. Tuttavia, ciò che mi appassiona maggiormente è l'esplorazione di nuovi materiali e la loro combinazione in modi inusuali. Talvolta utilizzo collage fotografici come base, sovrapponendo materiali differenti, come la malta micacea, che una volta indurita, acquisisce la consistenza della pietra. Inizialmente, lavoravo solo con carte di diverso tipo (di gelso, di riso, di banano, crespa, velina) per conferire colore e texture alle mie opere, ma con il tempo ho scoperto nuovi orizzonti espressivi attraverso la sperimentazione di materiali sempre più variegati.
Credo che la curiosità sia la mia più grande fonte di ispirazione, un motore inesauribile che mi spinge a esplorare e reinventare costantemente il mio linguaggio artistico.

-I usually love painting Naples, the city where I live and to which I feel I deeply belong. This city, with its unique charm, offers me endless inspiration, but it is the Vesuvio that truly captivates my imagination: the volcano, a powerful and unmistakable symbol, that dominates the landscape and embodies the very soul of the territory. Even though the Vesuvio is a recurring theme in my work, I never stop searching for new ways to represent it. It’s remarkable how, just when I think I’ve explored every facet, new inspirations emerge: sometimes rooted in reality, other times completely born of my imagination. These visions provide me with fresh perspectives on the strength of the volcano, highlighting its deep connection with the everyday life of those who live in its shadow.
My background as an architect often influences my creations, leading me to geometrize the forms in my paintings. However, what excites me most is experimenting with new materials and combining them in unconventional ways. At times, I use photographic collages as a base, layering different materials, like micaceous mortar, which, once hardened, takes on the consistency of stone. Initially, I worked solely with different types of paper (mulberry, rice, banana, crepe, tissue) to bring color and texture to my works, but over time, I discovered new expressive possibilities through experimenting with increasingly diverse materials.
I believe curiosity is my greatest source of inspiration, an inexhaustible force that drives me to constantly explore and reinvent my artistic language.

-D’habitude, j’aime peindre Naples, la ville où je vis et à laquelle je sens profondément appartenir. Cette ville au charme unique m'offre d'infinies suggestions, mais c'est surtout le Vésuve qui captive mon imaginaire : le volcan, symbole puissant et incomparable, qui domine le paysage et qui incarne l'âme même du territoire. Bien que le Vésuve soit un thème récurrent dans mes œuvres, je ne cesse de chercher de nouvelles façons de le représenter. C'est extraordinaire comme, au moment où je pense en avoir exploré toutes les facettes, de nouvelles inspirations surgissent : parfois liées à la réalité, d'autres fois complètement le résultat de mon imagination. Ces visions me donnent de nouvelles perspectives sur la force du volcan, soulignant son lien profond avec la vie quotidienne de ceux qui vivent sous son ombre.
Ma formation d'architecte influence souvent mes créations, m'amenant à géométriser les formes de mes tableaux. Cependant, ce qui me passionne le plus, c'est l'exploration de nouveaux matériaux et leur combinaison de manière inhabituelle. Parfois, j'utilise comme base des collages photographiques, en superposant différents matériaux, comme le mortier micacé, qui, une fois durci, acquiert la consistance de la pierre. Au départ, je travaillais uniquement avec différents types de papier (mûrier, riz, banane, crêpe, papier de soie) pour donner couleur et texture à mes œuvres, mais au fil du temps j'ai découvert de nouveaux horizons expressifs en expérimentant des matériaux de plus en plus variés.
Je crois que la curiosité est ma plus grande source d'inspiration, un moteur inépuisable qui me pousse à constamment explorer et réinventer mon langage artistique.
