Margy Riley
I was a music teacher, a dance teacher (acrobatics, modern, jazz, ballet and jazz excercise) and now an artist. People call me a "right brain artist" as all my working life has had to do with right brain activities.
My art is not surrealism or what I (and many others) call "weird" art, I draw reality. Look at any of my drawings you will know what you are looking at and have a total understanding of what has been reproduced. One of them will touch you.
My music and dance "feel" has now extended into my pencil, aquarelle and pastel pencils. My love of animals, houses with character and portraits, show in my artwork and people from from different countries have bought my works, from the UK, USA to Dubai and from "Princesses to Pensioners". All my life I have wanted to make art (in all it's different forms) available to everyone.

"If I like what I see and it moves me, I draw it"
Animals, people, buildings, it does not matter. Beauty is always in the eye of the beholder and hopefully I can translate "that" into something that someone else enjoys or hopefully excites them or just makes them feel good. If I can achieve that, making one person happy - I'm cool.
Also through my art I hope to help, financially as well as making people aware of what a fantastically wonderful world we live on by contributing to three outreach programs - Cheetah Outreach - Spier - South Africa / Leopard Trust - South Africa and the Cheetah Conservation Foundation of America. A fixed % of profits will go to these programs. JOIN ME AND CELEBRATE OUR WORLD - SAVE OUR ENVIRONMENT.

What I use
I started off using just a pencil. I then added pastel pencil which gives me the opportunity to get all the fine lines required with "realism" and then I also discovered aquarelle which is an amazing product, allowing the fine lines of a coloured pencil to be spread and shaded with a little water and a fine brush, giving a "almost" watercolour finish to your work. Between these three, I have found exactly what I want and need.
