Après avoir trop longtemps délaissé les possibles interactions entre peinture et
photographie, l’arrivée du numérique a ouvert d’intéressantes pistes de recherche sur les différents procédés techniques pour y arriver. Je m’efforce maintenant de conjuguer mes deux amours, tout en veillant scrupuleusement à ne pas dénaturer l’un par rapport à l’autre.
La frontière est infime et je lutte tout au long de mes images pour ne pas la franchir. La photographie n’est-elle pas l’héritage de la peinture puisque les règles de composition et de couleurs, entre autres, sont les mêmes ? C’est pour cela que je veille à ce que mes natures mortes flirtent avec la matière pour s’habiller de ce côté pictural. Il est important pour moi que la photographie sorte du carcan de procédé mécanique et chimique, et qu’elle
devienne une création artistique à part entière, voulue et maîtrisée, que ce soit dans la construction artistique comme dans la réalisation technique.
