Lutz Gaede is a contemporary German painter, graphic artist and sculptor based in Berlin and Stendal. He is a student of the renowned artist Prof. Markus Lüpertz and completed his master class in 2024. Gaede is a member of the Association of Visual Artists of Berlin (BBK). In his works, the East German painting traditions of the Leipzig and Berlin Schools mix with Western styles, resulting in a unique artistic approach.
Gaede's artistic practice includes classical graphics, painting and sculpture and serves both public and private clients. His works include art in public spaces, much photographed sculptures in historic city centers (art in architecture) and sculptural reconstructions.
His artistic path began early when he passed the aptitude test to begin university studies at the renowned "Burg Giebichenstein - Kunsthochschule Halle" (University of Art and Design), Halle/Saale. He then completed a multi-year program for gifted students in the field of fine arts. Nevertheless, he first studied medicine for several years at the Otto von Guericke University in Magdeburg, acquiring in-depth knowledge of macroscopic human anatomy. However, his passion for art led him to study classical drawing at the Paris Academy of Art and experimental techniques at the École des Beaux-Arts de Paris from 2016 to 2019. Gaede's artistic career was enriched by extensive travels through Europe, Central Asia, China and Japan.
From 2020 to 2024, Gaede studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kolbermoor under Prof. Markus Lüpertz and completed his studies with his master's degree. His diverse background and comprehensive education have cemented his position as a significant figure in contemporary art.
