Luc LE SAUSSE was born on September 23, 1953 in Paris, in the 10th arrondissement. He comes from a Breton family, which explains his passion for boats and seascapes which are frequently found in his works.

Passionate about painting from a very young age, he took up watercolors. He is self-taught because he has never had any training. He is inspired by the paintings of great painters of the 19th century such as Claude Monet and J.M.W. Turner.

In the 80s, he began to paint, simply out of desire. He therefore decided to buy books and the necessary equipment, worthy of a professional, to create his first work which was requested by a friend. This painting represented an owl.

He was also a member of "independent artists" of the Grand Palais in Paris.

He participated in several competitions. In the 90s, he was rewarded at the Bazar de l'Hotel de Ville (BHV) Competition with his painting "The Wave". In 2000, he won 1st prize for "Painters in the Street" in Verberie and 2nd place in 1999 and 2001.

In his paintings, he favors seascapes, houses, boats, typical characters of Brittany, which remind him of his childhood in this beautiful region of France.
