Lucio Diodati nació en 1955 en Popoli, una pequeña ciudad situada en las colinas italianas de la región Abruzzo. Durante el colegio descubrió su pasión por la pintura, es decir cuando empezó a pintar sus primeras obras. En 1975 atendió a un curso de escenografía en la Academia de Bellas Artes en la ciudad de L’Aquila, entrando así oficialmente en el mundo del arte.
Fundamental fue el encuentro con Gennaro Fiume, un comerciante italiano que le dio la oportunidad de exponer parte de sus obras en su galería en Roma. La natura ha sido sujeto de los primeros cuadros, caracterizada por campos con flores estilizados y el uso de colores primarios. Con su obra “Amiche” de 1985, las mujeres se convirtieron en las verdades protagonistas de sus cuadros.
Los cuerpos femeninos juntos a los colores nos cuentan una historia que sigue existiendo. En 2002 se fue a l’Havana por la primera vez y de aquel momento la ciudad representa una segunda casa para el, un lugar donde el artista logra encontrar su inspiración y liberar su mente. Las obras de Diodati han sido expuestos en algunas de las ciudades más importantes del mundo: Nueva York, Londres, Montreal, Barcellona y La Habana.
