Glossy finish
Apart from its exceptional thickness, the fiber paper is composed of an alpha-cellulose base without acid and it is covered with barium sulphate, and a microporous layer absorption enhancing pigments during printing. A pure white color, non-yellowing to light, this paper is especially designed for resistance and aging. Lucie Bastien, a contemporary French artist, entered the world in the 1990s amidst the rugged landscapes of Ardèche, where nature collided with pink, neo-rural housing estates. It is from this unique juxtaposition that her dual fascination with the wild and glossy paper perhaps first emerged.
From a tender age, Lucie was enamored with freedom and irreverence, filling her world with unspeakable princesses and monsters through her drawings. Encouraged by a limitless imagination and a desire to push boundaries, she navigated the world with curiosity and a penchant for risk-taking.
Growing up as a jack of all trades, Lucie embraced learning as a lifelong pursuit, constantly venturing into new mediums and territories. Today, her artistic expression primarily manifests through writing, performance, and painting, each medium serving as a conduit for her exploration of the political and the intimate.
In Lucie's work, boundaries blur and dichotomies intertwine, revealing a style that is simultaneously brutal and sensitive, exhibitionist and provocative. Like a lion in a cage, she fearlessly confronts existential questions, kneading and molding them into the fabric of her art in an ongoing quest for the meaning of life.
