The spreads of oil color on canvas are interspersed with shapes of matter made in different shapes and thicknesses.
In order to keep the surface of the support perfectly taut, the execution involves a careful study of the balance between the areas of pure color and the areas on which the material is applied, so that the latter does not deform the canvas.
This same process of execution includes an accurate analysis of the harmony existing between empty and full, between tangible and intangible, between spirit and matter; this is in fact the premise from which this series of works was born.
The titles are in Latin to evoke the ancient, musical flavor full of meanings that characterizes this language.
Specifically, the work "Lux Animae" is to be translated as: "The Light of the Soul".
The material inserts, made up of sawdust, cement cream and iron paste, seem to float against the oil background, whose light source vibrating in shades of gold and bronze in the center of the work, becomes its beating heart.

Lorenza Cavalli is a contemporary Italian artist. Figurative painting offered her the opportunity to play on the borderline between the material and immaterial dimensions. Already from the subject of these works her interest in the synergy between the known and the unknown arises, of which navigation becomes a symbol: an emblem of the human drive to strive for the absolute.
With abstract painting in which light is the absolute protagonist, she brings canvases where color and matter interact to capture the energy arising from the point of contact between tangible and intangible.
Her sculptures of marble and alabaster in combination with metals, where the transformation of salvaged objects becomes a means of revealing "other" dimensions underlying everyday life.
Lorenza Cavalli was born in Italy, where she graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Milan. She had numerous solo and group exhibitions both in Italy and abroad and her paintings are in the private collections in Italy, France, Switzerland, Holland, Russia, United States, India, China, Brazil and the Arab Emirates.
