Lionel Morateur développe une œuvre résolument baroque relevant de l'art digital. Il revisite les grands thèmes entre mythes et paraboles. Mettant en scène un univers sur le fil du rasoir, ou démesure et outrance laissent la place à de multiples niveaux de lecture.

Dans "Les cités perdues", l'artiste nous plonge dans un univers où l'architecture défie les lois de la nature et du temps. Se dressant fièrement contre un ciel d'un bleu azur parsemé de nuages cotonneux, cette structure imposante témoigne de la résilience et de la créativité humaines face à l'adversité.

La composition est centrée autour d'une tour délabrée, en équilibre précaire sur une arche de pierre brute. On aperçoit clairement un amalgame de bâtiments empilés les uns sur les autres. Chacun semble avoir son identité propre, reflétant des époques et des styles différents, ce qui évoque une histoire riche et complexe. Les murs usés par le temps sont ornés de couleurs délavées, témoins silencieux des jours passés.
