Linda Quick’s Artist Resume

In 1973 I started painting on ceramics when I was 16. I was designing vases with my own picture and entering them in county fairs. I took first place many times.
In 1985 I signed up for stained glass classes at a Riverside studio. I did this for a couple of years, not good on the hands.
In 1986 I found I was working too much and I decided I needed another focus. I signed up for a painting class at the local community center. We learned how to paint landscapes on canvas with acrylic paints.
I did this for a couple of years and then met some ladies who belonged to
local decorative painting clubs.
I signed up for as many classes as I could with as many teachers as I could. I learned how to use acrylics, oils and watercolors and how to mix the medias. We mostly painted from patterns and I learned how to paint everything from still life’s, to more landscapes to Santas.
During this time I also attended porcelain doll classes and learned how to use china paint on porcelain.
In 2002 I started painting with Elaine Mills at lunchtime designing my own pictures. This has led me to where I am now in 2004, painting flowers using watercolors.
I am spending my time these days constructing my own designs and I am finding flowers to be my focus.

Artist Statement
I have always been interested and wanting to participate in art.
I have painted all types of objects on all types of mediums and have always found flowers to be a challenge along with using watercolors. So now I am experimenting painting flowers mostly using watercolors.
Having taken so many structured painting classes using patterns and instructions I am finding it a release to paint whatever I want with whatever rules I deem necessary.
You will see my experiments in all of my flower paintings.
