Karakhan Seferbekov was born in 1957 in Dagestan, Russia. He was educated in Moscow. In 1980 he graduated from the graphic arts faculty of the State Pedagogical Institute in Moscow. 

The artist works in the style of expressionism. Member of the Moscow Union of Artists. Karakhan Seferbekov began exhibition activities in 1982 and he is a regular participant at Russian and international exhibitions in Europe, India, the USA, China and other countries.

In 1994 the artwork of Karakhan Seferbekov was awarded the Grand Prix de Peinture du Castellet (Paris, France). As part of a group of prominent artists from Russia he participated in an exhibition held in 1998 in several European cities, Paris, Brussels and Berlin, and was awarded the diploma of this exhibition.

The works of Karakhan Seferbekov are included in the collections of the Russian Academy of Arts, the Cultural Centre for the Arts in Paris Cité Internationale des Arts, the Urusvati Institute of Himalayan Studies in India, the Han Jianmin Sino-Russian Picture Gallery (now a branch of the International Academy of Culture and Arts) in Harbin (China), the foundation of the Centre for the Science and Culture of Bulgaria in Sofia and others.
