"What I have discovered in my years of creating portrait/ realism artwork is that every detail of a photo has significance, especially the flaws and imperfections that the “digital age” encourages us to edit out. Without those flaws, we cannot have beauty. Without the dirty, scabbed feet of my child self in the “Little Lauren” portrait, we would miss the character and sparkle of my little personality. Without the double chin of a grinning groom as he laughs with his new bride in “Pure Unforgettable Joy”, we would miss just that: the joy! Each and every attribute tells a story, or conveys an emotion, or captures a memory.
