This piece captures a very special, warm sunset. It was late June, when summer nights begin to stretch longer, and this little corner of Los Bateles beach in Conil has always brought back fond childhood memories. That’s why I felt compelled to capture the beauty of this beach, with the sun disappearing behind the breakwater by the lighthouse on a clear, cloudless day—highlighting the unique colours of this cherished spot.
About Los Bateles Beach
Los Bateles Beach is located in Conil de la Frontera, Cádiz. It’s a long, wide sandy beach that stretches all the way from Fuente del Gallo to the Conil river—if you cross it, you’ll find yourself already on El Palmar beach. On the breakwater sits the Conil fishing port, with Roche Lighthouse marking the entrance to the secluded coves of Roche and its nearby residential area. It’s a truly special and welcoming place, full of vibrant energy for both the soul and the body.

A lo largo de mi trayectoria como artista visual he desarrollado una obra personal que nace de la experimentación con diferentes técnicas fotográficas, combinando procesos analógicos y digitales para dar forma a imágenes únicas, llenas de carácter, emoción y cuidado.
Mi nombre artístico, Kaupu, surge de una expresión personal, un grito de alegría y vitalidad que siempre pronunciaba en los momentos de adrenalina y felicidad, como al deslizarme sobre una ola. Decidí adoptarlo como firma artística porque representa lo que me mueve: esa energía vital que nace de disfrutar intensamente lo que uno ama.
Para mí, Kaupu es una forma de estar en el mundo: disfrutar de los pequeños momentos que nos regala la vida, observar con atención lo que nos rodea y nutrir el alma con instantes breves, pero profundamente significativos.
Por eso, en mi obra fotográfica siempre busco capturar momentos efímeros que merecen ser eternos: fragmentos de naturaleza, de mar, de luz… que nos invitan a contemplar, respirar y reconectar con nuestra parte más sensible.
