In the darkest of times, humanity has always created art. Not because it was easy — but because there was no other way.

This bas-relief is not about beauty. It is about the ability to endure when everything else is falling apart.
At its center is a radiant core. Surrounding it — a flexible metal chain. It can be seen as protection, as a crown, as a talisman. But most importantly — it holds together what lies within.

The plants are not random.
These are the flowers that grow on fields once scarred by war.
These are the herbs once placed under pillows, bundled in cloth, used to ease pain.
Poppy — for remembrance.
Wheat — for survival.
Sage — for purification.
And all of them — for prayer through the hands.

The background is not just backdrop. It is the sun. Not the one that burns — but the one that still refuses to die out.
It is a light suspended in space while darkness crawls from every side.

That’s why this work is more than art.
It is testimony.
It is the pulse of a nation captured in the silence between explosions.
It is the kind of object one wants to keep close — not because it’s beautiful, but because it speaks when everything else is silent.

Through storms of sorrow, hopelessness, and grief
Where pain and despair tear the soul apart
In the desert of darkness — through years, through centuries
All of Ukraine lifts its hands in prayer toward the light
Let the earth be covered with a shield of prayers
Let misfortune leave us behind
Let all horrors and pain sink into oblivion
No matter what — may this land once again bring us grace and flowers.

Such works are not bought casually. They are chosen — because someone sees themselves in them.
This is not decor. This is proof that we have endured

I am Larisa Ruy — a contemporary artist creating my own visual language.
My path did not begin with academies, but with deep inner research. I have never followed trends. Instead, I created my own technique by combining oil painting, bas-relief, gold leaf, and texture into one symbolic form.

I work in symbolism. Each of my artworks is a layered story — a code of strength, intuition, and transformation. My art is not decoration. It’s energy that reshapes the space.

Collectors, visionaries, diplomats — those who sense depth beyond words — are drawn to it.
My works are held in private collections in the USA, Germany, Switzerland, UAE, India, and Ukraine.

For me, art is not noise. It is silence you want to fall into.
