My name is Larisa Lavrova. I am a full-time artist, who can’t imagine a day without painting. Now I live in Moscow, Russia, where I have my studio. My experience with oil painting is about 17 years. I came to oil painting through a circuitous route, having drawn for most of my life and eventually being re-introduced to painting as my preferred medium to create my work. It was a long way to find my style of painting. The methods I use to paint are often classic ones, using layered paint applications rounded off by oil glazes. These create, add depth and harmonize colors. I like to play with light on canvas. My artworks are colourful and bright. In my work, I aim to capture the exhilaration or the thrill of the moment and translate that onto the canvas. I always try to present an ethereal dreamlike quality to the work, emphasizing a fleeting, heartbeat in time.
I graduated from Vasnetsov Art College in Abramtsevo (Moscow region) in 2006, and then I took the Art course at the Russian Art Academy.
I'm proud to say that my works are in private collections in Russia, the United Kingdom, USA, Germany and other countries.
As a passionate painter, I often participate in various exhibitions, trying to reveal the beauty of our world to the people. At this moment I have more than 50 works to sell which I would be glad to present on your site and to have a chance to sell it.
