Laorans Biscay is a French painter, born in 1985 in Brittany (France).
He defined himself as a disharmonist and ubiquitous artist, inspired by both the surrealism of everyday life, naive, breathless art, sleepy abstraction and prosaic cubism.
One of the specificities of his work comes from the fact that Biscay has already programmed his own end and will stop painting after his 33rd painting. "being prolific seems to be a pathology"
When the British art journal Diorama Review asks if it will continue on another medium, the artist remains evasive and responds "life is full of surprise, images and colors are so many eternal transmutations."
However, the Baudelairienne and Appolinairienne poetry enthusiast wants to pursue "the after 33rd canvas" in a "scriptural or animated way".
The contemporary art critic Martin Wurtzspeigler defines Biscay as a "nihilist of the facade", "more concerned with life than it seems." The brushstroke of the brush, the constructed approximation, the schizogamic mad reflection refusing the markers, it is Bisquay, the prince quidam ".
The critic makes him a "dilettante generation and passionate and voluntarily fleeting."
"When Bisquay paints Sigmaringen, there is behind all this shock of the childish colors of Hansel and Gretel, a muted conscience of the history of France" (The Armoryc Show Diary / 16-07-2016)
Biscay says he wants to paint in disharmony with time but in coherence with the fluctuations of his feelings and daily sensations and refuses "to fall into a skepticism of facility".
The artist says he has done almost half of his work, a total of sixteen paintings, half of which are already scattered in private collections, gifts of drunkenness and lost bets.
