The chess team before the game. They are ready for battle. But who is the most important here? It is clearly that it's not the pawns. But if you think that the king controls the pawns, you are mistaking. Not the king, and not even the queen. The pawns, as well as other figures, are controlled by the very main one, who is not visible in the picture, but whose presence is felt by the looks of the team. The whole team is looking at the chess player, the one on whom they are really dependant, whom they trust. The pawns are controlled by the chess player, invisible, and the most important one. You are very lucky in life, if this chess player in your life is you.

I have lived and worked in Mariupol, Ukraine for the most part of my life. I graduated from comprehensive and art schools in Mariupol, then from Priazovsky State Technical University. I worked as a furniture and interior designer, painted oil pantings, wrote poetry and stories, and for the last years I have been working as a translator. In 2014, I proposed to the city mayor an option for reconstructing the central square of the city of Mariupol, decorating it with doves of peace and calling it Peace Avenue, and these proposals were brought to life later. I loved Mariupol, and only the war and destruction of the city forced me to move from there. I spent 21 days in a siege, I saw many horrible things. But in my paintings I tried to express not the horrors of war, but the beauties of life around.

I mainly paint with oil paints on canvas, sometimes with acrylic. I like any subject where reality crosses a fine line into fantasy, I believe that each picture should carry some important opinion through symbols, in my opinion, this is most interestingly achieved with the help of neo-surrealism. I believe in life and the possibility of changing it for the better, this is the support of my inspiration, which I would like to wish to everyone who reads these lines.
