My name is Kitty Hartmmann. I'm a hungarian painter. My mentor was Endre Szasz who was a famous painter in the World. So ..Look,what I can paint!
Kitty Hartmann is the only painter to have ever studied with celebrated Hungarian Surrealist, Endre Szasz. While a student at the Kaposvar art school in Hungary, Hartmann began working for Szasz at his home in Somogyjad. Even though she was only 14 years old, he quickly saw that she was a talented painter in her own right and began to instruct her in his technique.
Hartmann was given the unprecedented opportunity to study under Szasz from 1990 until his death in 2003. His work continues to inspire her because no one in the world painted or paints like him. Hartmann is dedicated to paying tribute to her master teacher by carrying on his technique.
Hartmann’s own work as a painter combines Szasz’s unique methods with expressions of her passions about life, love, and her native home of Hungary. She says that she paints according to her mood in the moment and likes to use intense colors. She waits to decide on a subject and chooses her acrylic paint colors only when she sits in front of the wood fiber board on which she paints.
Hartmann’s paintings have been sold both at auction and in galleries in Linz, Austria; Brussels, Belgium; Budapest, Hungary; Germany, Italy, and Slovenia. Now, for the first time, she is making her work available to collectors in the United States.
Hartmann currently lives in a village nearby Szasz’s estate in Hungary.
