Kim Miller
Kim started painting in middle school when she received a set of oil paints for a birthday. She had shown an aptitude for art from grade school, but never had any formal training. Later she started experimenting with watercolors/inks/pastels, and came up with her mixed media techniques. Now she has also added acrylics to the mediums she uses. Mixed media is something she really enjoys, sometimes adding texture, or markers to her paintings.
Animals are a favorite subject in both her works on paper, and her canvas work. She likes bright color, and line work. Kim gets most of her ideas from her meditations and dreams. The animals usually represent some human condition, using a lot of symbolism and messaging. She sees artwork as a form of visual healing.
She has lived in both the American Southwest and the Midwest, and has had work in galleries in both locations. Also participating in art shows in Minnesota where she currently lives and has her studio.

How I get my ideas
My process is pretty simple, and maybe a little different from some other artists. I am very metaphysical in my thinking and personal lifestyle. I receive my ideas in dreams and meditations. Ignoring the hints usually just results in more hints until I figure it out. Sometimes it pretty obvious...no extra hints required. Then it's just a matter of deciding if it want to be on paper or canvas, and what mix of mediums to use.
