Geometric 2021 - 215c5h is an abstraction of a kaleidoscopic image. It is actually just one element of a larger kaleidoscopic image, duplicated, with the copy flipped horizontally to form an almost mirror image - but not exactly, because one of the elements is slightly larger than the other, and is slightly rotated, just barely, on the edge of perception- so the image seems symmetrical on first viewing, but with the irksome feeling that it isn't quite even. One may be tempted to "level" the image as it seems slightly askew, but trying to do so will yield the image seemingly tilted in the other direction - there is no way to get it to seem exactly level, because it depends on which subelements one is making one's judgement on - leveling some of them will make the others askew and vise versa.

Ken Lerner is a passionate photographic artist, born into a family of renowned photographers. He began taking photos at the age of 6, using a camera given to him by his father. But he was not interested in simply reproducing real life moments. His vision was more subjective and he sought to project an internal reality of that moment.

At the beginning of his career, he almost exclusively created images with multiple exposures. This gave a complex structure to the images and represented a subjective view of the world. In the 2010s, after working in financial product sales, he returned to photography producing only single exposure images. Even though they were less structurally complex, they still represented a subjective view of the world, being almost totally abstract. Ken works extensively with reflective surfaces such as water, glass and metal.

A lover of the beauty of nature, Ken Lerner paints and photographs a lot of landscapes and seascapes. He is interested in presenting different possibilities of representing "nature" and often produces many variations of an image with different colors, shades, contrasts and saturations.
