59th Street Bridge 7a4 is an indigo monotone image of the 59th Street Bridge in NYC. 59th Street Bridge 7a4 is an indigo monotone image of the 59th Street Bridge in NYC. I have increased the contrast markedly, and I've reduced saturation to very low level so that the sky has now turned a very deep blue-black instead of the daylight sky it was when shot, and so that the lights of the bridge, which were just coming on, go pure white; and in fact so does the last remaining daylight falling on Roosevelt Island behind the bridge itself..

Ken Lerner is a passionate photographic artist, born into a family of renowned photographers in 1947. He began taking photos at the age of 6, using a camera given to him by his father. But he was not interested in simply reproducing real life moments. His vision was more subjective and he sought to project an internal reality of that moment.

At the beginning of his career, he almost exclusively created images with multiple exposures. This gave a complex structure to the images and represented a subjective view of the world. In the 2010s, after working in financial product sales, he returned to photography producing only single exposure images. Even though they were less structurally complex, they still represented a subjective view of the world, being almost totally abstract. Ken works extensively with reflective surfaces such as water, glass and metal.

A lover of the beauty of nature, Ken Lerner paints and photographs a lot of landscapes and seascapes. He is interested in presenting different possibilities of representing "nature" and often produces many variations of an image with different colors, shades, contrasts and saturations.
