I was born in 1957 in Bratislava (Slovakia). I studied at the Department of Art Education at the Faculty of Education of Comenius University in Bratislava.
In the years 1981-1992 I worked as an art editor in publishing houses and at the same time I devoted myself to my own artistic creation as a painter and book illustrator.
From 2004 to 2017, I worked as a university teacher at the Department of Art Education at the Faculty of Architecture of the Technical University in Bratislava. In 2009 I studied at the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris.
Over the decades, I have illustrated around 200 books, mostly for children and young people, and so thousands of my paintings and illustrations are known to entire generations in Slovakia and the Czech Republic.
In 2006 I was nominated for the International Hans Christian Andersen Award.
I have had solo exhibitions in France, the United States, Italy, Spain, France, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Austria and of course many in my homeland Slovakia.
Many times my works have been selected for collective representative exhibitions of Slovak art in Japan, Spain, Italy, Russia, Germany and other countries.
