Red Kites have a special place in my heart, as I've painted many through the years, following the reintroduction of this most beautiful raptor when I lived in the
U.K. Although considered a raptor, like other birds of prey, they are mostly scavengers.
Please note: the painting will be sent to the purchaser rolled in a tube for economic reasons.A framer will simply stretch the canvas prior to framing.
This painting is in honour of one of Europes most colourful and majestic birds.

Julian Wheat is a contemporary award-winning British painter. He showed above-average artistic and athletic ability from a young age, and these two characteristics would shape the course of his life. At the age of 28, he retired from competitive racing and spent the next 11 years traveling on a bicycle to such far-flung places as the Rocky mountains of America, and Alaska.
He's always been drawn to lonely, wild, and rough landscapes that haven't been tainted by man's hand. He began sketching and painting pet portraits and wildlife during his years of travel.
Julian Wheat was born in 1954, in the UK. He lives and works in France.
