Souhaitant donner un nouveau trait au Joker, j'ai alors pris la décision de le montrer juste après une supposée mort de Batman (le journal en bas à droite l'indique). On y voit un Joker triste, nostalgique et recroquevillé sur lui-même. Toutefois, le Joker n'est rien son sourire. C'est pourquoi je l'ai peint en arrière-plan.
Cela incite à une double lecture du tableau. De loin, le sourire domine et nous savons à quel personnage nous avons à faire. De près nous y découvrons une narration dans l'illustration.
