José GARCIA (GARBEL) born in 1946 in "La Union"south of Spain. Self-taught painter of surrealist figurative tendency, José GARCIA dispenses a verist pictorial writing with an eclectic use of material ranging from oil, to acrylic, passing through airbrush and Rotring ink and pastel. His plastic narration is representative of a certain surrealism with however an experimental aspect of psychological morphologies. The woman often represented is masterfully worked. He becomes a discoverer of the barely suspected relationships between the scattered energies of the universe as well at the geological level as at the human or even cosmic level. José GARCIA gets involved in an exploration of the inner being and brings out his strongest, most constant thoughts. His work is abundant and he cultivates an eclecticism deliberately focused on this writing. He captures the common thread which gradually becomes the plastic essence of his canvas. If his theme moves towards surrealist fantastic subjects, he nevertheless approaches with precision certain trompe l'oeil themes like the canvas "La Bouillabesse". The nudes or portraits are treated with precision. A painter who gives a strong vision of his art, and for whom spending an indefinite time with his work is synonymous with exaltation.
