Tomorrow’s memories, painted today is how John likes to describe his pastel and acrylic paintings and pencil drawings. Quite often people reminisce about the old days, days gone by and how a memory can often be blurred and faded with time except for the image held in our minds eye.
John is a portrait artist living in Warlingham, Surrey with his wife Amanda, two Children and a lovable rogue of a dog called Max.
John has been producing work locally for many years and has recently started to spread his wings further by advertising both regionally and nationally. Essentially John specialises in producing lifelike Acrylic paintings from clear photographs however he also works in pastel and pencil to good effect. He paints any subject including horses and riders. Portrait prices range from as little as £80 so there is something for every budget. Portraits start as small as 8.5" x 12" and go as large as 24" x 36" or larger on special request.
Subjects include people, pets, wildlife, architecture, landscapes, seascapes etc. If you can provide a quality photograph, John can produce a painting or drawing that he is sure will delight you or the recipient for many many years to come.
John feels that he puts a little bit of himself into each painting or drawing that he produces but that the people and animals that he portrays represent the real story. They are all individual characters. Each of us possesses our own character and that character always comes out in artistic portraiture where it might not necessarily show in a photograph.
I try as much as I can about the character of the person or animal that I am painting so that I can capture the true essence. This is important to me because the gift of a fine art portrait is for life and will undoubtedly be passed from generation to generation in many cases. Capturing the true character of your subject ensures that the memory lives on in its truest form
We can't stop the passing of time.....
But we can capture a moment.....
